With help from Crime Stoppers, Metro police officials say South Precinct detectives have identified the man believed to be the gunman in a fatal shooting at a South Nashville gas station last Thursday.
The fatal shooting of Carlos Logan, 34, happened outside the Shell gas station at 361 Harding Pike the morning of April 17.
Officials say Logan and the suspect, 31-year-old Leroy Dallas Topp, were involved in some type of altercation. Surveillance footage from the gas station shows Logan throwing a snack cake at Topp just before the shooting.
Metro police have issued a first-degree murder warrant against Topp.
According to officials, Topp has previous convictions in Michigan for homicide/manslaughter and assault with intent to commit murder.
Topp may be driving a gray Ford F-150 with an extended cab. His current whereabouts are unknown, but officials say he has ties to Clarksville as well as Michigan and Texas.
