Man dies helping to build church in Robertson County

GREENBRIER, Tenn. (WKRN) — A 69-year-old man was killed Thursday in a construction accident while helping to build a new facility for his church in Robertson County.

Investigators said Thomas “Tommy” Sprinkles was working on the site along New Hall Road in Greenbrier around 9:30 a.m. when a piece of excavation equipment overturned and killed him.

Pastor Billy Bowers with Unity Free Will Baptist Church in White House said Sprinkles recently joined the church and was a “faithful” member who “loved the Lord.”

Sprinkles had a background in construction and volunteered to help build the new church facility in Greenbrier, the pastor told News 2.

The fatal incident remains under investigation.
