Man critically wounded in South Nashville shooting

A 52-year-old man was shot multiple times while walking into his South Nashville home Monday morning in an apparent targeted shooting, Metro police said.

Officers responded around 10:20 a.m. to a reported shooting on Fain Street near Napier Park where they located the victim outside of the residence suffering from several gunshot wounds.

He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries considered life-threatening.

As of Monday afternoon, police said he was in critical but stable condition.

Detectives said they believe the victim was the intended target and was shot by two men in a blue vehicle.

No further details have been released.
