ROBERTSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man pulled his critically injured father from a burning home Monday evening in Robertson County, authorities say.
Firefighters with the White House Community Volunteer Fire Department responded around 4:30 p.m. to a residential fire on West Stone Creek Trail, east of Coopertown.
The fire department said the resident’s son had arrived to find the house on fire and went in search of his father, finding him in a back bedroom.
He was able to get his unconscious father out of a bedroom window, firefighters said.
Medics treated the victim on-scene and he was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment of severe smoke inhalation.
His condition has not been released.
While the cause of the fire remains under investigation, the fire department said it appeared to have started in the home’s kitchen.
