A man broke into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment by pushing through the window air-conditioning unit, according to Metro police.
The burglary was reported Nov. 5 but Quonteze Pannell was arrested Thursday.
He is charged with theft and aggravated burglary.
Metro police were called to apartment at James Cayce Homes after a woman came home to find two TVs and a Sony PlayStation missing. The woman says her back door was open and it was clear her AC unit had been pushed through the window and replaced.
She told officers she’d been gone for an hour and that Pannell had been at her apartment before she left, according to an arrest affidavit.
Police say the theft was captured on MDHA cameras. In the video, police say Pannell is seen pushing in the window unit, climbing through the window, and coming out the back door three times with the stolen items.
The victim told police she dated Pannell in the past but that he did not live there and was not allowed to be there when she was not around.
