Metro police were called to a crash in North Nashville early Saturday morning and charged the man who crashed with his 4th DUI.

Metro police say Robert Hoover told officers someone cut him off, causing him to crash into a utility pole.

Responding officers say Hoover looked and smelled like he’d been drinking and tried to get him to do field sobriety tests but say he refused. Officers got a search warrant to draw his blood and test the alcohol content.

Hoover was convicted of DUI in 2006, 2007 and in 2018.

He is charged with DUI, implied consent and driving with a revoked license.
