NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A 25-year-old man was arrested in the Thursday morning robbery of a hotel in Donelson.

Metro police say Dibrell Pruitt was book into jail on $50,000 bond the same afternoon after being taken into custody at his Murfreesboro Pike apartment.

According to a press release, a citizen alerted an investigator with the District Attorney’s Office, who just happened to be in the apartment complex at the time, that Pruitt likely committed the robbery.

Metro police say money, a rifle, and a black mask were recovered.

Pruitt is accused of walking into the Alexis Inn and Suites on Ermac Drive around 2:40 a.m. while armed with a long gun.

Surveillance video reportedly shows him pointing a gun at the clerk and at one point walking behind the counter to look into the cash register.

Around 3 a.m. police say a man matching the same description tried to get inside the Days Inn at 821 Murfreesboro Pike. He was unable to get into the lobby because the door was locked. It’s not yet known if Pruitt has been connected to that case.
