NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) - - A woman was resting in her car outside of a gym on Charlotte Pike when she says a man opened her car door and stole her handbag.
Inside her bag was a pearl necklace and other items worth $2,700.
Metro police were called to a second theft just hours later. This time, officers say lottery tickets were stolen from a gas station.
Officers searched the area and soon found a man who matched the description of the suspected ticket thief. When police stopped Ahmed Abdalla, they say he had lottery tickets in his shirt.
According to his arrest affidavit, Abdalla was seen in surveillance video from the gas station getting in a dark car and almost hitting the store clerk when he left the parking lot.
Police searched that car and found it had been reported stolen. Inside the car was a handbag and pearl necklace, the same items reported stolen from the woman on Charlotte Pike.
Abdalla is charged with burglary of a motor vehicle.
