Surveillance video shows the moments before Nelson Robles was shot and killed by security guards outside Bucanas nightclub Saturday night.
Metro police say Robles pulled out a gun and cocked it, prompting security guards to shoot.
“It’s unfortunate,” said owner Mariusz Alexandru. “And, our condolences to the family and friends of the victim as well as full support for the parties involved.”
Alexandru says the 38-year-old was at the club earlier that night but got kicked out.
“He was being loud, obnoxious to other customers,” Alexandru said. “He was being disruptive with other patrons,” he said. “He was being disruptive with our employees, bartenders.”
Police say Robles went to another location on Nolensville Pike but came back to the nightclub with a gun.
“We were at the peak hour when customers were inside the venue,” Alexandru said.
The owner says 300 to 400 people were inside.
“He could have shot his way through and got into the venue,” he said.
He says security had no choice but to stop the threat.
“I believe that they saved lives,” Alexandru said.
Alexandru calls the shooting a “tragedy.”
“It’s always unfortunate and tragic when a life is lost,” Alexandru said.
Police say the two security guards involved are Isedro Lucio, 29, and Jelani Kimber, 41.
No charges have been filed, according to police.
