19-year-old dies after shooting at Bordeaux apartment

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Metro police are investigating whether a shooting that killed a 19-year-old man inside of a Bordeaux bedroom Wednesday night was accidental.

Officers responded around 9 p.m. to an apartment on Clarksville Pike near Courtney Avenue, where they learned Juerno Brown, Jr. had been fatally shot.

Brown and several other people were visiting a friend in a bedroom at the apartment, according to police. They said another 19-year-old was handling one of at least two guns in the room when it fired, striking and killing Brown.

Detectives said the teenager suspected of handling the gun showed up at police headquarters Thursday afternoon and claimed it “unintentionally discharged” as he, Brown and others were inside the apartment.

No charges have been placed against the teen, as the investigation continues.
