HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Authorities are searching for a suspect following a deadly shooting and pursuit Wednesday afternoon that started in Hendersonville and ended in Nashville.
The Hendersonville Police Department told News 2 officers were sent to the area of West Main Street at Old Shackle Island Road at 1:22 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 8 to investigate a shooting that left one person injured. The victim — 21-year-old Mark McCord Jr. — was taken to Hendersonville Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
“I get a phone call at work that there’s been a shooting over in my neighborhood again,” said one Hendersonville neighbor. “It’s just unbelievable; this is a quiet neighborhood.”

Neighbors stood around as police set up tape and evidence markers and took photos of the scene. One resident told News 2 they heard the gunshots and described them as sounding like “fireworks.”
Three suspects reportedly got into a white Chevrolet Equinox with a getaway driver waiting for them several blocks away. They fled the scene, prompting officers to pursue the vehicle.
“I saw about five unmarked police cars just flying by and a flood of other cop cars,” said Austin Boyd, as he watched cars go by him. “I was just in shock. Genuinely, I was just in shock and my jaw dropped. After about the 10th car, I was like, ‘Wow, this is something serious.'”
The pursuit crossed into Davidson County and police said two suspects bailed from the car on Weakley Avenue near Brick Church Pike, prompting the Metro Nashville Police Department and the Tennessee Highway Patrol to respond to the scene and help search.
“I hope justice is served to them because what happened is not okay, it’s not called for, and no matter what, we just need to trust the police and the state to get them in custody,” Boyd said.
Three of the four suspects have been taken into custody, while the fourth suspect, identified as 31-year-old Woodrow Sales Jr. of Nashville, is on the loose.

Sales is wanted for first-degree murder and evading arrest, according to Hendersonville police.
The three captured suspects have been identified as 21-year-old Quentin Taylor, 20-year-old Dominic Smith and 26-year-old Indyja Mitchell. They face the following charges:
