Police: Man loses part of his foot after being struck by train in Germantown

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Police said a man was a struck by a train Saturday night and lost part of his foot. 

According to police, just before 9 p.m. CSX contacted dispatch and told them one of their trains hit a person who was on the train tracks. 

Officials said a man in his 50s has a partially amputated foot as a result of the incident. One of the first officers on the scene applied a tourniquet to the man as soon as he arrived. 

The man was transported to the hospital for treatment.
