Police investigating after bullets pierce homes, cars in Clarksville neighborhood

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The gunfire rang out late Sunday night in Clarksville.

Ashley Franklin and her family were settling in for the night in their home off Baltimore Drive.

“My husband just got home, brought my son downstairs,” she said. “All of a sudden he’s telling everybody get down there are shots being fired.”

Bullets peppered their car, their neighbors’ truck, and at least two buildings in the neighborhood.

The most concerning bullet though was fired toward the second floor, where Ashley’s 11-year-old daughter was sleeping.

“She said mom a bullet hit my window,” she explained. “There was the bullet through the window, it looks like it ricocheted into our side wall. Then it went through into the hallway and a bunch of debris fell in the hallway.”

Clarksville Police are investigating, but no arrests have been made.

Neighbors say police collected several shell casings while on the scene Sunday, but at least one remained outside a home on Monday.

Ashley is now considering moving but hopes someone with information will come forward.

“I hope they realize they almost hit a little kid last night,” she added. “I’m hoping that maybe they’ll step up and turn themselves in.”
