Police investigate 2 shootings minutes apart in Murfreesboro

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) — Authorities are investigating two separate shootings that happened within a half hour early Monday morning in Murfreesboro. 

A man was shot inside a vehicle outside Sam’s Sports Grill on Old Fort Parkway around 12:45 a.m., according to Murfreesboro police.  

The victim was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and is listed in stable condition.  

Murfreesboro police said officers interviewed witnesses and are working to determine a motive.  

No suspect description was released and the investigation is ongoing.  

Approximately 25 minutes later, officers were called to an unrelated shooting at the corner of Hancock and Minor streets.  

Murfreesboro police said a male victim was found shot at the scene. He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in critical condition.  

No motive or suspect has been released in that shooting.
