Police: Couple overdoses and leaves infant daughter alone in a car seat

Local News

Metro Police said two people were found unconscious outside a vehicle with their infant daughter left unattended in the back seat.

Officers were called to the scene near the corner of Rosa Parks Boulevard and Jefferson Street Friday afternoon.

According to an arrest affidavit, a passerby noticed the two adults passed out and called 911.

EMS arrived and administered Narcan to 25-year-old Robert Wesley Anderson who was rushed to St. Thomas Midtown Hospital.

His wife, 23-year-old Kandice Roberts, regained consciousness on her own, according to police.

Police said the couple left the baby girl alone in the back seat with the car doors wide open.

Officers said they found heroin, pills and marijuana in the vehicle.

Some of the drugs were left on the seat, next to the child’s car seat, said police.

Anderson and Roberts are both charged with child endangerment and drug possession.
