Police: Blind woman falls to her death from balcony of South Nashville apartment

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Metro police are investigating after a blind woman fell to her death from an apartment balcony in South Nashville Friday night.

According to police, a 30-year-old woman was found on the ground around 7:30 p.m. below a third floor balcony at Whispering Oaks Apartments on Tanglewood Court.

Officers responded and said the woman was declared dead from the fall by the fire department. Investigators said it appeared the victim, who was blind, had accidentally fallen over the balcony railing, but the investigation was ongoing.

The identity of the woman was not immediately released.
