NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A 38-year-old woman died after she was hit by a vehicle in West Nashville Thursday.

The crash happened in the 6300 block of Charlotte Pike around 4:30 p.m.

She was crossing Charlotte Pike near Watts Lane when she was hit by a 2008 Honda Civic, according to Metro police. Authorities later identified her as Uzma Latif.

Latif was taken to an area hospital where she died.

Metro police reported the Honda had the green light at the intersection and there was no indication of impairment of either party.

Investigators believe the contributing factor in the crash was Latif being in the roadway.

A record 32 pedestrians were killed in Nashville in 2019 and advocacy groups are demanding change from Mayor Cooper’s office.
