Missing dog found safe days after Benton County crash

Local News

BENTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — A dog that ran from the scene of a serious crash in Benton County over the weekend has been found safe days later.

In a Facebook post, the Benton County Animal Shelter said the dog’s owner, who was “badly banged up and bruised,” was involved in a crash Sunday evening that killed his dog, Sassy.

The owner reported seeing his other dog, Lena on the ground at the scene, but the animal shelter said she either ran off or was picked up by someone.

Crews searched the immediate area of the crash scene, but were not able to locate Lena.

In a follow up post Tuesday, the Benton County Animal Shelter said Lena was found safe by staff at King’s Physical Therapy. She was returned to her owner and is now at home.
