On his birthday, NFL player gives back to kids in Antioch

Local News

An NFL player celebrated his birthday by giving back to local kids.

Benny Cunningham, a Chicago Bears running back, was at the Phatkaps on Bell Road in Antioch and gave away 100 bicycles.

The Nashville native told News 2 he didn’t have a bike growing up and he always wanted to make that dream come true for others.

“Football is my platform but I was put in this world to do something for others and this is something I didn’t have growing up. To be able to do this for others and put smiles on their faces is something I really take pride in,” said Cunningham.

Cunningham is a graduate of Goodpasture Christian School in Madison. He played football at Middle Tennessee State University from 2009-2013 before being signed to the then St. Louis Rams as an undrafted free agent.
