The Play Like A Girl Honors Gala is happening on Monday, November 26th. It benefits the national charitable organization called Play Like A Girl, whose mission is to ensure that every girl reaches her full potential. They give girls an opportunity from 9-13 to participate in sports and physical activity and also combine that with learning about careers especially in male-dominated fields like STEM careers.
Dr. McKenna Healy, a board member from Play Like a Girl, stopped by News 2 at 11 a.m.to talk about the event.
Trisha Yearwood will be the honorary chair and tennis champion Madison Keys will be the keynote speaker. Our own Danielle Breezy will be co-chairing the event along with Kelly Ford. Danielle became involved with this organization because she played sports growing up and truly believes they propelled her into her STEM career as Chief Meteorologist at News 2.
The Play Like A Girl Honors Gala will take place at the Marriott Hotel, 700 Cool Springs Boulevard in Franklin. There is also a special ticket price that lasts through November 9th for young professionals. For $99 you get a ticket to the gala along with a year membership to Play Like A Girl events.
