NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department has declared a shopping center safe after a suspicious device was found Monday afternoon.
It was located at the Jackson Downs Shopping Plaza in the 3100 block of Lebanon Pike around 1 p.m.
Police told News 2 it was reported to be a pressure cooker attached to a speaker. A witness told police he heard an “audible countdown” coming from the device.
Shoppers were evacuated from nearby stores after the device was found.
A bomb squad was called to the scene. After investigating with their robot, the device was deemed to not be a threat.
Police are still investigating and reviewing surveillance videos to figure out how the device got there.
