NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — An investigation is underway after a man was killed in what police called an “apparent targeted shooting” south of downtown Nashville overnight.

The Metro Nashville Police Department said officers were called to the 100 block of Charles E. Davis Boulevard shortly after 12:15 a.m. on Friday, April 28.

According to authorities, 33-year-old Dequan Howse was walking through a courtyard at Napier Place when a male suspect shot at him, hitting him multiple times before Howse died at the scene.

Even though Howse didn’t live at Napier Place, he was reportedly known to frequent the area.

Officials said the shooter and a second suspect ran away from the scene. They were described by witnesses as two men dressed in all black clothing.
