NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man has died after he was shot inside an apartment in East Nashville Tuesday morning.

The shooting happened around 10:20 a.m. in the 600 block of South Fifth Street.

Metro police said the victim has been identified as 29-year-old Eric Reed.

According to investigators, two men, at least one of whom is believed to have been an acquaintance of Reed, came into the apartment. Shortly after, a gunshot was heard and the two men fled the scene.

Reed was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.

Anyone with information about the two men involved is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward of up to $5,000 in homicide cases.
