NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A 47-year-old man is charged with attempted criminal homicide after a shooting early Monday morning at an East Nashville gas station.
The shooting happened at 12:43 a.m. outside the Citgo gas station located in the 500 block of Main Street.
According to Metro police, Ricky House shot and wounded wounded a 39-year-old Murfreesboro man. House was then wounded by return fire, allegedly in self-defense, from a 23-year-old Murfreesboro man.
Two victims who work at the gas station were outside when House approached them wanting to return items he claimed to have purchased Sunday night, according to Metro police. When the 23-year-old told House he’d have to wait for the manager to return, House allegedly pulled out his Glock pistol and threatened both men.
The 39-year-old tried to disarm House and during a struggle between the men, House fired twice. The 23-year-old returned fire and shot House multiple times. The 39-year-old was struck once during the shooting.
Both House and the 39-year-old were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The Glock pistol and the 23-year-old’s revolver were recovered.
House remains hospitalized. Warrants were issued charging him with attempted criminal homicide, reckless endangerment, and being a felon in possession of a weapon. He will be arrested upon his release from the hospital.
No other information was immediately released.
