NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — One person is dead and several suspects are on the run following a shooting near Nashville International Airport.

It happened on Donelson Pike near the airport entrance.

Metro police say a 22-year-old man — later identified as Brandon McCabe of Gallatin — was found shot inside a vehicle at that location.

Following the preliminary investigation, police have discovered McCabe made an arrangement through Facebook Marketplace earlier in the week to trade his BMW sedan for a Dodge Charger. On Tuesday, the BMW broke down on Donelson Pike.

A person in the BMW called McCabe to help them.

McCabe drove to the scene in a family member’s SUV. Following a dispute, someone in the BMW fired a shot and killed McCabe in the SUV.

Three suspects were seen fleeing the scene on foot.

Police say they are actively pursuing leads at this time.

The northbound and southbound lanes of Donelson Pike remained closed as police investigated the scene Tuesday night. Both lanes have since reopened.
