According to Metro police, a family was inside the home when the suspect fired at least five shots from outside the residence. The victim was shot as he sat on a sofa near a window. The shooter then ran away.

The victim was taken to the hospital and his injuries are not life-threatening, authorities reported.

Police said they found shell casings outside along with evidence inside the home. Detectives are taking a close look at doorbell camera video in the area as part of their investigation.

Investigators believe neither the home nor the boy were targeted in the shooting. The victim’s 15-year-old sister and 1-year-old brother were inside the home at the time of the shooting, but they were not injured.

No additional details have been released about this incident.
