NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Police have opened an investigation after a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run crash in Madison late Sunday night.

It happened on State Route 45 and Delaware Avenue around 10:30 p.m. Metro police said 35-year-old Wenceslao Teletor-Ajualip of Madison was struck by a vehicle and killed while he was attempting to cross State Route 45. He died on the scene.

A witness allegedly told police the vehicle may have been a 2009 silver Toyota Camry, and that the victim was possibly hit by a second vehicle, followed by a white tractor-trailer. Authorities said all three vehicles left the scene.

Alcohol was reportedly found at the crash site from the pedestrian, but police said toxicology testing will be conducted. Police stated that the crash happened outside of a marked crosswalk.
