NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Metro police are investigating a shooting near Nashville International Airport that killed a teen.
Police said the shooting happened at around 6:45 p.m. Thursday in a parking lot of Hickory Creek Apartments, located in the 1100 block of Vultee Boulevard. A witness reportedly called police saying they heard gunshots and saw a person down on the pavement.
Investigators on scene told News 2 a teen, later identified as 18-year-old Demon Floyd Jr., was shot and taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died from his injuries.
On Friday afternoon, police said they arrested 31-year-old O’Neil Boyd in connection with the shooting. Boyd was found at an apartment complex on Millwood Drive and was taken into custody without incident, according to investigators.

Police said Boyd allegedly met Floyd in the parking lot for a marijuana deal.
Boyd was arrested on a criminal homicide charge and is being held in lieu of a $500,000 bond.
