There’s a new show debuting in Nashville this weekend, this one with the message of gender acceptance.

It’s called Spectrum, a musical work by Nashville in Harmony– a 120-voice chorus of LGBT people and friends, as well as Intersection’s instrumental ensemble.

The show composed by Philadelphia’s TJ Cole also features messages from the LGBT community.

“It’s all about really recognizing diverse, unique, beautiful voices, and honoring a place for all of us to be able to be our true ourselves and to be able to express our true identity,” said Kelly Corcoran, the artistic director and conductor for Intersection.

“The work we’ve commissioned is specifically about different kinds of gender, and thinking about gender in terms of a spectrum instead of being a binary that we’ve all been socialized with,” added Don Schlosser, the artistic director for Nashville in Harmony.

The show is also Sunday at 4 p.m. at Oz Arts Nashville.
