The kennel runs at Metro Animal Care and Control are a muddy mess, which makes it challenging for the dogs to go outside.

For that reason, the shelter is holding “Mulch Madness,” asking folks to donate mulch to cover the mud.

The mulch drive runs from now until Sat., Jan. 19th.

Simply go to your local home improvement store and purchase a bag of pine bark nuggets (please get the “nuggets”) and drop it off at the shelter.

Metro Nashville Animal Care and Control is located at 5125 Harding Place, Nashville, TN 37211

The facility is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with extended hours to 6 p.m. on Thursdays

For about $5 a bag you can help give a dog some time in the fresh air and keep them clean.
