CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Officials in Montgomery County are actively searching for a man who they say escaped custody Friday night while being processed into the Montgomery County Jail.

According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, bonding agents brought 23-year-old Cemage Darquez Garrard into the warrants office just before 6 p.m. Friday.

While processing the paperwork to have Garrard booked into the Montgomery County jail, investigators said he fled from the office while still in handcuffs.

Garrard is 5’10″ tall and weighs about 165 lbs.

He was last seen wearing a dark blue hoodie, khaki pants and handcuffs.

Earlier this year, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office posted to Facebook asking for the public’s assistance to locate Garrard on charges of kidnapping and burglary.
