Because of additional rain moving in following the wet weekend the National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for most of Middle Tennessee and Kentucky.
In Middle Tennessee, the watch is in effect until 7:00 pm Monday. In Kentucky, it is in effect until 1:00 CDT Wednesday.
Many areas in southwestern sections of the mid-state have seen 6″ to almost 9″ of rain since last Friday night according to Doppler Radar rainfall estimates. Other areas just south and east of Nashville have seen 2″-3.5″ during that time period.
As an area of low pressure rides along a stationary front, an additional 1″ to 3″ of rain could fall through Monday. Where heavy rains occur, street flooding and localized flooding of low lying areas and small streams could occur.
