A Middle Tennessee fire department is remembering one of its fallen members by naming a new training center in his honor.
The Lawrenceburg Fire Department posted photos of land where they will soon break ground on the new Jason Dickey Memorial Fire Training Center.
Dickey died nearly a year ago on Feb. 12 while battling a house fire. Four other people were hurt.
“We lost a hero, we lost a man who saved countless lives in his 11 years with the department,” Lawrenceburg Fire Department Chaplain Chad Moore previously said of Dickey.
Officials said the new training center was made possible through financing from several other departments and donations.
Dickey is survived by his wife and three young children.
