Fire at Lawrenceburg apartment complex injures 1, displaces 10 families

One person was injured and families were displaced after a fire at a Lawrenceburg apartment complex. 

Fire and rescue crews responded to the call around 8 p.m. Friday at a complex on Old Florence Road. 

Firefighters said they immediately found a resident critically wounded. They also discovered that people could still be trapped in the building. 

According to a release, firefighters entered the building with hoses and held the fire while others rescued one person who was still in the building. 

The injured person was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment

Officials said the fire was extinguished around 11:30 p.m. 10 units were heavily damaged and deemed a total loss. 

10 families were displaced by the fire. Lawrenceburg Fire Department is investigating the cause.

LFD also received assistance from Ethridge, Leoma, Gandy, Crossroads, and Henry County Fire Departments.
