A driver was killed Saturday afternoon after running into an empty building in Clarksville.
Police said 32-year-old Donta Peterson was driving on College Street when, for an unknown reason, his vehicle crossed the northbound lanes and crashed into an unoccupied building in the 1300 block of College Street.
Peterson was transported to Tennova Medical Center and pronounced dead.
Police said he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
This is the first fatal crash in Clarksville this year.
