Nashville is starting to see NFL draft preparations around town.
Soon the draft will take over much of lower broad, where you will see signage nearly everywhere you turn.
Fencing and barricades have been put in place in the parking lot outside of Market Street Apartments, along 1st Ave. The Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp says half of the lot will be used for load in for the NFL Draft.
A number of marketing signs have also already popped up around town. Several traffic signal boxes around town have been wrapped with “the future is now” NFL Draft logo. There is also a draft logo on the convention center marquee.
This week we expect pole banners and buses to be wrapped with draft logos as well.
At the end of the week, around 100 tractor-trailers are scheduled to arrive in town.
“A lot of the gear, because of the size, will be shipped in but there is a ton of local labor that will be utilized throughout the draft. It is important to us, it’s important to the NFL. The first of it will start, we will be setting up our production compound at lot R at Nissan Stadium and then they will go on to Riverfront Park so those two places first and the longest,” Butch Spyridon President of NCVC told News 2.
Next week we expect to see some major movement as they prepare for weeks of intense work both downtown and at Nissan Stadium.
