Darius Garland withdraws from Vanderbilt to prepare for NBA draft

Local News

Vanderbilt Commodores guard Darius Garland announced Tuesday that he would be withdrawing from the university to prepare for the 2019 NBA Draft.

In a tweet, Garland announced his decision and thanked Vanderbilt and coach Bryce Drew.

The freshman guard played just five games for the Dores, averaging just over 16 points, three rebounds, and 2 assists per game before he suffered a meniscus injury to his left knee during the game against Kent State on Nov. 23.

Right now, the Brentwood Academy alum is projected as a top pick.
