CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A barricade situation on Cranklen Drive in Clarksville is over and residents are now allowed to emerge from their homes.

Police say the incident started at around 1:34 p.m. Saturday as a domestic situation on Scott Drive. Officers later found the person of interest, identified as 30-year-old Kantrell Head, at a residence on Cranklen Circle with a toddler Head had taken from the Scott Drive location.

Officers were able to get the toddler to safety, but Head then barricaded themselves inside a home before officers could intervene.

After many attempts to get Head to come out peacefully, he was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The police department’s homicide detectives have started an investigation and the scene is being processed by the crime scene team.

No officers were injured.

The public is no longer asked to remain inside.
