CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The mother of one of the suspects in a Clarksville homicide has been charged in connection to the case.

According to police, after 24-year-old James Morris murdered 35-year-old Matthew Nelson on Earl State Road, he fled and showed up at a friend’s home in a car driven by his mother, 47-year-old Susan Ficklin.

Detectives said Ficklin was aware of what her son had done and was taking him to Indiana because she had to get him out of Clarksville.

Police said Ficklin and Morris were both arrested in Elizabethtown, Kentucky by Kentucky State Police.

Ficklin was charged with accessory after the fact. She is being held in Hardin County, Ky without bond while awaiting extradition back to Clarksville.
