SMYRNA, Tenn. (WKRN) — A community will come together Saturday in Smyrna to say goodbye to a woman murdered earlier this month inside of the Madison counseling center where she served as Assistant Director.

Metro police said the body of Melissa “Missy” Hamilton, 50, was discovered the morning of December 4 inside of Crossroads Counseling on Gallatin Pike South. She had been stabbed to death, investigators revealed.

A celebration of life event will be held for Hamilton at 2 p.m. Saturday. It will take place at Christ Life Community in Smyrna.

Brian Conley, 31, has been charged with Hamilton’s murder. Police said the two did not know each other and he was not a client at Crossroads Counseling.
