Homeless woman apparently swimming when she drowned in Cumberland River

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) - The body of 31-year-old Tamica Johnson was recovered from the Cumberland River Friday night around 8 p.m.

A friend of Johnson’s told police that they were swimming on the east side of the river near Nissan Stadium when Johnson went under water. The friend called for help when Johnson did not resurface.

Divers Friday night recovered the homeless woman's body not far from where she was last seen.

There were no indications of foul play.  An autopsy will be conducted.
