The body of a 17-year-old boy was recovered from Tims Ford Lake late Friday night, officials with Franklin Co. EMA said.

Officials say the teenager went missing while swimming without a life jacket.

Rescuers from Franklin County EMA, Sheriff’s Office and the TWRA assisted with the day-long search.

“Please remember to wear your life jacket while swimming,” officials wrote on Facebook. “Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers during their time of grief due to this tragedy.”

The teenager has not been identified at this time.
