Accused killer Kirby Wallace faces 9 new charges in Montgomery County

A Montgomery County grand jury has indicted Kirby Wallace for murder, aggravated burglary, auto theft and other crimes. 

The latest indictment charges him with killing Joseph Morford on October 1, 2018.  He’s one of two people Kirby Wallace is accused of killing during a crime spree at the Montgomery – Stewart county line. 

He was the target of an intense manhunt that brought hundreds of police officers from around the region to search dense woods.  

After a week-long search, he was taken into custody on Oct. 5 in a heavily wooded area of Stewart County. News 2’s cameras were rolling when he was led out of the woods.  

Two residents of Montgomery County are accused of sheltering Wallace during the manhunt. Derek Eugene Summers and Mindy Elaine Harris are charged with Accessory after the fact.
