Local News

A 21-year-old man was killed and a woman injured in a shooting Tuesday night at a home in Hermitage.

Officers were called to a home in the 4500 block of Brooke Valley Drive around 9 p.m.

Metro police identified the man killed as Corvell Huddleston.

Investigators believe Huddleston and a female friend arrived in her car at the home of one of Huddleston’s relative.

According to the woman, two people approached the vehicle, with a gunman shouting a robbery demand before opening fire, reported Metro police.

Metro police said the shots were directed at the passenger side of the vehicle, where Huddleston was seated.

Huddleston was hit in the chest and died at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.  The woman suffered a non-critical wound to her arm.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-74-CRIME.

Metro police reported at the time of the shooting, Huddleston was wanted on outstanding warrants charging home burglary and aggravated robbery, and was serving a three-year community corrections sentence imposed last year for aggravated assault and making a false report to police.
