CHEATHAM COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — Two Ashland City men were killed when a truck went off the road and into a Cheatham County creek early Thursday morning.

Emergency crews responded to the 1300 block of Turnipseed Road around 5:15 a.m., where the vehicle was located on its roof in the water.

Tennessee Highway Patrol identified the two men killed as Robert Reed, 38, and Jason Shoulders, 41.

Troopers said Reed was driving east on Turnipseed Road, when he went off the roadway on the right. The roadside edge became steep, causing the vehicle to overturn and land in a creek, according to investigators.

The crash remains under investigation by Tennessee Highway Patrol.
