MANCHESTER, Tenn. (WKRN) – The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives is investigating after two pipe bombs were discovered in Coffee County.

Authorities responded to Walker Street in Manchester. Investigators said jail inmates on a work detail discovered the first explosive device. The second device was found 35 yards away in a culvert.

Manchester police Investigator Jackie Matheny said the devices were homemade pipe bombs. They have suspects but no names or descriptions were given.

Authorities said Tennessee Highway Patrol will detonate the bombs in a safe, unknown place.
