HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (WKRN) – The band director at Hopkinsville High School has been charged after police say he participated in an inappropriate relationship with a student in 2017.

According to police, in June 2017, Jordan Seth Peveler knowingly provided marijuana to a 16-year-old girl at his home in Hopkinsville. After she was under the influence of marijuana, he asked the victim to perform oral sex on him, which she did.

Investigators said in August 2017, after the victim’s 17th birthday, Peveler had sex with her at his same home in Hopkinsville.

In both instances, police say Peveler was in a position of authority or special trust to the victim because he was the victim’s band director at Hopkinsville High School and he came into contact with her in that position.

Peveler was charged with unlawful transaction with a minor, rape, and sodomy.

Christian County Schools says Peveler is no longer employed with the district.
