Kentucky church daycare reopens after tornado

The Mount Zion Baptist Church in Paducah took a direct hit from an EF-2 tornado last week.

The Mount Zion preschool daycare will reopen on Monday, March 25.

Daycare director Michelle Rushing was called a “hero” for protecting the kids.

Forty preschool children were inside the church when the tornado touched down last Thursday morning. The church was heavily damaged, and Rushing knew she had to move everyone into a sheltered area in the building and she had to do it fast. She says everyone was okay because they had a plan and a weather warning.

They’re calling it “the Miracle at Mount Zion.”
