Interactive mood walls encourage Nashvillians to wear their feelings

Several interactive mood walls have been set up across Nashville that offer buttons of emotions for anyone to take and wear.

Whether you are hurt, grumpy, frustrated or excited, the idea is to wear the button and start a conversation.

The boards display nearly 1,000 buttons of more than 20 feelings.

Their goal seems to be working. In just three days, around 10,000 buttons have already been taken.

Insight Counseling Centers installed the walls in honor of May’s Mental Health Awareness Month.

Insight is encouraging those who get a button to share their photos online with #nashvillemood.

You can cash in your button for a discount on your first counseling session with the company.

This is the third year for the event.

Mood wall locations include:

Brook Hollow Baptist Church
Center for Nonprofit Management
The Cookery
End Slavery TN
Stansell Electric Company
State Dept. of Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services, sponsored by NAMI Davidson County
Tusculum Elementary School
