While work continues to clear debris from the I-24 landslide, side roads serving as detours are seeing a lot more traffic.
Many roads like Clarksville Pike are getting congested during morning and evening commutes. Ashland City continues to see backups as well.
So far, work crews have cleared about 600 loads of dirt and debris from I-24, but they’ll need about 5,000 truckloads to clear everything out.
TDOT has set March 15 as the target date for opening a temporary lane around the landslide.
If you’re still looking for an alternate route, here are some options:
Whites Creek Pike
Old HIckory Blvd to I-65
Hwy. 12 through Ashland City.
